I was recently invited to attend the launch of the newly opened micro-brewery and Indian fusion eatery co-owned by the Singhs who are certainly no strangers to the restaurant scene, with various other successful eateries already established around Cape Town and of course, Franschhoek.
The trendy eatery won me over with the Angus beef brisket (locally sourced of course) made over a massive adjustable wood-fired grill that towers in the center of the kitchen. The tandoori chicken tacos are a firm second! The smokiness the grill imparts onto the food is lip-smackingly good!
Did I mention pairs so very well with their 5 house-brewed beers? The microbrewery which is encased in a glass box and is visible at the entrance of the restaurant gives any patron the feel of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, a wondrous and fascinating sight.
Not into beer? No problem! Patiala Brew & Q has an impressive and quite an extensive spirit and wine list. The eatery will be launching brunch very soon, so do make sure to book in advance as they can get quite busy, especially over weekends.
If it were not so far away from home, I could easily see this local gem become a regular dining spot.
I highly recommend a swerve from the usual steak date night and give Patiala a go!
The eatery is situated at shop 21, Constantia Emporium, Ladies Mile Road, Belle Constantia. To book, call: 0218829860
** A big thank you to Patiala Brew & Q for hosting me at their successful launch. I cannot wait to be back again!**
